GO MY WAY by hitomi

Stepped by Xythar for Hits of 2006 (DDRExtreme.co.uk)

Again, I'll be brief because I just want to get this finished and go to bed. :P

hitomi is a fairly popular J-pop star, and this song was her most popular single since "Japanese Girl" in 2005. I actually heard it by accident while searching Youtube for another song by Hitomi Yaida also called "Go My Way", but that's another matter entirely. :) I noted that the song might make a cool simfile, and so here it is.

It kind of makes me think of a James Bond opening for some reason, actually. But in J-pop form.

Anyway, Heavy is relatively experimental for me in terms of what I chose to follow and my use of breaks. But I actually like it a lot, so I hope you will too. Standard is a bit like Hello Again's standard, but it has a few sequences of two or three 8ths in a row, making it a little harder (and hence the 5 foot rating). It's still significantly easier than heavy however. Light is pretty much the only way I could go for a song like this, it doesn't follow it that closely because so much of the song is on offbeats but I wanted to keep the offbeat usage to Standard this time.

The song and video were not too difficult to cut and also came out pretty well I think (except for that part where the video skips but I'm not downloading it again for the third time... don't ask). Unfortunately the Stepmania default theme tends to cover up the important upper edge of the video but I can't do much about that unless I want to ruin the aspect ratio with black bars (to keep the aspect ratio I'd need to put a black border around the whole thing and that'd just be nasty).

Graphics were a pretty quick job done with screencaps from the video. The font is plain but I wanted to make it look similar to the text that appears during the video. Again, I didn't really have time to put in a lyrics file.

See you!
